• Memphis Grizzlies’ radio color commentator Hank McDowell has announced his retirement after a close-call with his health.

    Born and raised in Memphis, Hank McDowell played collegiately at the University of Memphis (formerly Memphis State University) and was selected as the tenth pick in the 5th round of the 1981 NBA draft by the Golden State Warriors that was followed up by a six-year NBA career. McDowell went on to join the Memphis Grizzlies’ radio broadcast team’s color commentators during the 2006–07 NBA season.

    Memphis Grizzlies’ radio color commentator Hank McDowell has announced his retirement after a close-call with his health.

    Born and raised in Memphis, Hank McDowell played collegiately at the University of Memphis (formerly Memphis State University) and was selected as the tenth pick in the 5th round of the 1981 NBA draft by the Golden State Warriors that was followed up by a six-year NBA career.
